JHAZA AMARI
A personal experience shaped who Jhaza Amari is today: she was inspired to start her own business after watching her mother achieve entrepreneurial freedom through obtaining a cosmetology license. Her mother’s impact helped Jhaza honor her hair and heritage with confidence. Now, she joyfully expresses the freedom to be her full self through dance, fashion, and cosmetology.
For Jhaza, success means maintaining faith, trying without knowing the outcome, and being adaptable. She believes in consistency and resilience, even in the face of rejection, and strives to maintain these qualities in all her endeavors.
As a current competitor for the Miss West Coast Pageant, directed by Tara Rice, Jhaza (1) prioritizes youth development, increased enrollment rates in schools, enrichment programs and pageantry; (2) Preventing bullying by promoting positive body image through advocating that identity is everything; (3) Creating supportive, empowering, and inclusive environments for the next generation.
Jhaza advice young women and all people to embrace their uniqueness, recognize their beauty and live their purpose. She encourages everyone to use their voice to fully express themselves and move from their heart’s desires, regardless of other people’ opinions.
